Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Critter Camp handles information when you use the Critter Camp mobile game, this website, and related support services. Critter Camp is designed to work without requiring you to create an account.
1. Information stored on your device
Critter Camp stores gameplay and preference information locally so the game can function. This may include puzzle progress, completed Challenges, scores, stars, Help balances, settings, selected camper, badges or awards, sponsored unlock state, purchase entitlement state, and similar gameplay records.
If a feature lets you enter a local display name or Trail Log name, that value is intended for local game use and is not sent to Critter Camp analytics.
2. Product analytics
Critter Camp uses TelemetryDeck to understand a small number of aggregate product events, such as whether players reach certain Challenge milestones, use optional rewarded Help, or choose a sponsored progression gate.
Our TelemetryDeck integration is deliberately minimal. Critter Camp does not use TelemetryDeck's standard Swift SDK. Instead, the app sends an allowlisted set of events through a custom ingestion client. The analytics payload is designed not to include your name, email address, Trail Log name, puzzle board contents, individual moves, Game Center identity, StoreKit transaction identifiers, IDFA, or IDFV.
Critter Camp does not create a persistent analytics user identifier. A random session identifier may be generated for the current app launch and is not intended to identify you across launches. TelemetryDeck states that IP addresses are not stored on its analytics servers, including in database or log files.
3. Optional rewarded advertising
Free players may choose to watch a rewarded advertisement in exchange for certain in-game benefits, such as additional Help, sponsored Challenge access, or replay access. Rewarded advertisements are player-initiated. Critter Camp does not use banner ads, forced interstitial ads, or app-open ads in the current release plan.
Rewarded advertising is provided using Google AdMob and the Google Mobile Ads SDK. Google states that its mobile ads technology may process information such as IP address (which may be used to estimate general location), device or app-related identifiers, advertising data, ad interactions such as video views, crash logs, and performance information. The exact data processed can depend on region, consent choices, device settings, and Google's ad-serving mode.
Where required, Critter Camp uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to present privacy choices and obtain or record consent before requesting ads. Critter Camp's current design does not request Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission for personalized cross-app tracking.
4. Purchases
Premium purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. Critter Camp receives entitlement information needed to unlock purchased features. Payment card details and Apple account payment credentials are handled by Apple, not by Critter Camp.
5. Game Center
If Game Center features are enabled and you choose to use them, information related to leaderboards, achievements, and your Game Center account is handled through Apple's Game Center services. Critter Camp does not use Game Center identity as an analytics identifier.
6. Support communications
If you contact support, we may receive the information you voluntarily provide, such as your message, email address, screenshots, device details, app version, or purchase information you include to help resolve an issue. We use support information only to respond to and resolve your request, maintain the service, prevent abuse, or comply with legal obligations.
7. Children and family use
Critter Camp has family-friendly artwork and gameplay. The app is not intended to encourage children to disclose personal information. We do not require an account to play. Advertising and consent settings are configured with age-appropriate and regional privacy requirements in mind. Parents and guardians should review device, App Store, and advertising privacy settings that apply to their family.
8. How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. Information may be processed by service providers that help operate Critter Camp, including Apple for App Store purchases and optional Game Center features, TelemetryDeck for limited product analytics, Google for optional rewarded advertising and consent management, and infrastructure providers used to operate this website.
We may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the security, rights, and safety of users or the service.
9. Data retention
Local gameplay data remains on your device until removed through app controls, device settings, app deletion, or operating-system behavior, subject to any applicable cloud or backup features you enable through Apple.
Analytics and advertising providers apply their own retention practices. Support communications may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the request, maintain business records, prevent abuse, or meet legal obligations.
10. Your choices
You can choose not to watch rewarded advertisements. Where applicable, Google's privacy message provides consent or privacy controls. Premium players do not see rewarded-ad surfaces. You can also manage privacy, advertising, Game Center, purchase, and device settings through Apple and your device.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the service. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Critter Camp changes. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when a revised policy is posted. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or through the App Store where appropriate.
13. Contact
For privacy or support questions, please use the Critter Camp Support page. A monitored support address will be added before public App Store release.
This policy describes the current intended production architecture. Service-provider practices may change, and their own privacy notices also apply.
